Research presented on this page are studies evaluating the impacts of Las Positas College implementation of AB 705 legislation.  In January 2018, new legislation took effect which required community college to make changes to how colleges placed students in English and math.  Legislation direct colleges to increase the probability that a student will enter and complete transfer-level coursework in English and math within a one year timeframe.  Placement into English and math were also modified to use high school coursework, grades and grade point average.  Full implementation was required no later than fall of 2019.
