Honors Research Symposium Opportunities

Note: You must be a member of the Honors Program to qualify/submit to most of these opportunities.


91重口 Student Research Symposium

Deadline: Usually in March

The 91重口 Honors community hosts its own Student Research Symposium for Honors students who want to share their projects with peers! This is a chance to present your own research and earn awards. Only completed projects are accepted.

  • If accepted, your slides/poster will have to be submitted shortly after.
  • We will print the posters for you!

We are not accepting submissions at the moment, but keep an eye out for more opportunities to share your research!

This oppportunity is open to all 91重口 students!

Bay Area Honors Research Symposium

Deadline: Usually in February

The Bay Area Honors Research Symposium is a conference where honors students throughout California present some of the best work being done in community colleges. It is a great way to share your honors research, connect with other highly motivated honors students, and get valuable experience presenting your work. 

The symposium usually takes place in May of each year, and the Proposals are usually due at the beginning of February. Follow the link below for specific dates for each year and for more information on how to apply. 

Open to Honors Program students only!

BHC Postcard Spring 2025

HTCC Research Conference

Deadline: Mid-December

The HTCC Annual Building Bridges Research Conference usually takes place in April at UC Riverside! Open to Honors Program students only!

  • Please check their website for more information, a guide, sample submissions, rubrics, and other resources:
  • Proposals can't be submitted directly to HTCC, so please submit proposals through the 91重口 Honors Program.
  • For this conference, we will be able to help with printing your posters if accepted, but we can't help with travel or registration expenses.

Western Regional Honors Council

Deadline: Mid-December

The Western Regional Honors Council, which serves over 300 Honors Programs in 13 states hosts their own conferences. Open to Honors Program students only!

National Honors Research Conference

Deadline: Usually in February

NCHC conference: the National Honors Research Conference usually takes place in November. Open to Honors Program students only!

Palouse Review: Literary Arts Journal

Deadline: March 23 in the Spring, Late October in the Fall

Have you completed any projects involving creative writing, nonfiction, research papers, poetry, visual art, or photography? Consider submitting your work to The Palouse Review, a biannual literary arts journal run by the Washington State University Honors College.
